FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Forty-two students from 13 eastern Carolina school districts met at Francis Marion University in Florence Monday to wage a war of words.
Rebecca Liu, an eighth grader from Williams Middle School in Florence, took top prize at the spelling bee by correctly spelling the word “saboteur.”
Rebecca also won the competition last year. Last year’s runner-up, Abby Richburg from Manning Junior High, took the same prize this year.
