CBS NEWS – Since Colorado legalized marijuana two years ago, emergency room visits by out-of-towners have spiked. That’s according to a study from Northwestern medicine. Doctors say experimental pot smokers aren’t prepared to handle the side effects including hallucinations and anxiety. New findings show an active and healthy brain goes a long way in the fight against Alzheimer’s but it wont stop the disease. Mayo Clinic researchers studied people who carried a gene linked to dementia. They say middle aged patients who remained physically and mentally active had lower levels of plaque that build up in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients. SOURCE- MedDay/CBS

There’s another benefit to laser treatment used to kill brain tumors. Doctors now say the treatment can manipulate the brains defense barrier long enough for certain chemotherapy drugs to pass through and be effective.
