A man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after allegedly shooting into a vehicle in Marion on Christmas Eve.

Dustin Bradley Wilson, 21, of Marion, was arrested on January 2 for an incident that happened in the Withlacoochee Park area of Marion on December 24, according to a press release from Marion Police Department Chief of Police Tony Flowers. 

“A group of individuals were sitting in a vehicle at the park and when they started to leave Mr. Wilson allegedly discharged a firearm into the vehicle,” states the release. “All occupants of the vehicle escaped serious injury and identified Mr. Wilson as the shooter.”

Wilson turned himself in on January 2 to the Marion Police Department, the release also says. He is charged with five counts of attempted murder, malicious injury to personal property, and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.

Bond was set at $10,000 for the discharging a firearm into a vehicle charge and $5,000 for the malicious injury to personal property charge. Bond was not set on the attempted murder charges and will be set at a later date by a Circuit Court judge. 

Wilson is currently being held at the Marion County Detention Center.
