Florence Police continue to search for whoever shot and wounded a man Friday night at Magnolia Mall . It happened at around 8:00 at night inside the mall.

Magnolia Mall management never returned our calls Monday regarding whether or not security has  increased.  But police say shootings around the mall are rare.

Florence Police arrived within a minute to the scene, saying a fight broke out among a group of people inside the mall near the food court.  When another group tried breaking up the fight, gun shots went off, striking a victim in the leg. The victim was sent to Mcleod hospital and has since been released.

“It was kinda a shock,” says Sosoa Keef, who was leaving the mall when it happened. “Everybody started running when we got into the car.”

Florence Police say they only have a vague description of the suspect. They haven’t received any surveillance video yet because, the police report indicates, the mall doesn’t have any cameras where the shooting happened.  Police are still asking stores for any footage they might have of the suspect.
