Conway City Council passed its second and final reading of a smoking ban tonight.
The new ordinance prohibits smoking and tobacco use in public places owned by the city.
That includes city parks, buildings, vehicles and any city-sponsored events.
The ordinance does not include smokeless tobacco.
A previous plan would have banned smoking in indoor public places, including businesses.
But that idea was struck down in mid-February when Councilman Larry White made a motion to move forward with the more strict ordinance, but no other member made a second motion in support.
