A young mother and her baby son were identified after a deadly fire swept their Kingstree home early Monday — just hours after a different fire in town was set at a man’s home.
Victoria Nichole “Vickie” McKenzie, age 32, and her son, Gunner Madison Epps, who was 14-months old died after the home on Oakland Drive was gutted by fire.
The blaze happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday,
and afterwards crews found the mother’s body in the child’s bedroom. Gunner, the little boy, was still in his crib.
The deadly fire followed an arson fire at a home on Starburst Avenue early Sunday, after 65-year-old Charles Wilson was murdered, officials say. (Click for related story)
