Police responded after a person was shot during an exchange of gunfire at Frankie’s Fun Park in North Charleston on Wednesday afternoon.

According to North Charleston police, officers responded at 3:36 pm to the parking lot of the business on Ashley Phosphate Road. 

The male victim, who was uncooperative, was shot in the buttocks and taken to MUSC for treatment. 

The general manager of Frankie’s Fun Park told WCBD that the shooting took place in the parking lot when two vehicles pulled up to each other. There was then an exchange of gunfire, the manager said, and the victim was hit.

The victim was seen fighting with police when they arrived, witnesses told WCBD.

 North Charleston Police, North Charleston Fire Department and Dorchester County EMS all responded Wednesday afternoon.

Frankie’s Fun Park was never closed during the incident, the manager told WCBD. No information about any possible suspects is immediately available.

The incident is still under investigation.
