PAMPLICO (WBTW) – The Florence County School District Two board voted Monday night to offer the superintendent job to Neal Vincent.
Vincent most recently was an administrator at Dorman High School near Spartanburg, and for six years he was principal at South Florence High School.
“Mr. Vincent has proven to be a very effective educational leader who we believe will be a good fit for our district,” said board chairperson Elleveen Poston. “He is bringing with him some great experience that will benefit District Two.”
Poston cited Vincent’s experience with grant proposal writing and work with emerging technology as his strengths.
The board began the search in recent months after Superintendent Robert Sullivan announced he would step down at the end of his contract. That decision followed a News13 investigation last year into accounts of grade tampering at Hannah-Pamplico High School.
Vincent’s first official day on the job will be July 1.
