A Myrtle Beach woman pleaded guilty earlier this week in an attack in a strip club bathroom in which a “clear plastic high-heeled shoe” was used against the female victim.
The incident happened in November at Chez Joey on Seaboard Street and left the victim, age 24-year-old woman, with several injuries.
A stripper at the time, Carolynn Elizabeth Wright, age 22, aka Beth Wright, of Coastal Lane in Myrtle Beach was charged with Assault And Battery 2nd Degree.
According to Horry County court records, Wright, who was initially wrongly identified by police as Caroline, pleaded guilty to that charge earlier this week.
The incident happened Nov. 13, 2014 just after 1:30 am in a bathroom at Chez Joey at 716 Seaboard Street when the victim told police that she was attacked.
(The) “offender approached her and grabbed her by the hair. She stated that the offender pulled her hair down (thus pushing her head down) and began striking her with a clear plastic high-heeled shoe that was in her left hand,” police wrote in a report.
“The victim also said that when she managed to lift her head up, the offender struck her multiple times in the face with the same shoe,” police said.
The victim told police, who met with her at an area hospital just after 2 am, that because her head was held down she was unable to defend herself, police said.
The victim, police wrote, suffered two puncture wounds to her scalp, a swollen left eye, and some swelling to her forehead. She needed staples in her head to close the wounds, a doctor told police.
The victim was unable to give police a written statement at the time because of her wounds, police said.
Police took photos of the injuries.
According to court documents, Wright was sentenced to 6 days in jail and credited for 6 days she already spent in jail, meaning she will spend no further time in jail. Wright also has 30 days to pay court costs.
