A person was hurt after being hit by a vehicle on the campus of Coastal Carolina University on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The incident happened just before 1:30 pm at the intersection of Chanticleer Drive E and University Blvd, Doug Bell with CCU media relations told News13.

The victim, who was identified only as a CCU employee, was taken to a nearby hospital after the crash, Bell said.

Initial reports indicated that a woman was the victim, but Bell could not immediately confirm that information.
