More than a thousand people came out to the first “Myrtle Beach Comic Con” on Saturday and organizers were expecting similar numbers on Sunday.
The first “Myrtle Beach Comic Con” took place at the Crown Reef Resort.
Visitors and vendors from across the country were in attendance at the event.
Fans of all ages were able to enjoy costumes, original artwork and of course comic books.
The two day event was created by a local comic book store owner, Drew Johnson of Coastal Comics, who says whether it is in movies, tv, or actually reading the books most people are fans of comics whether they know it or not.
“I felt like I could do something really good for the community I wanted to provide something that was family friend and bring something that people read about in the comic books and bring it to their backyard,” he said.
Johnson tells News 13 this is an event he hopes to continue to grow year after year.
