MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – Just after 11 p.m. on Monday, April 6, Mount Pleasant Police officers responded to The Boulevard Apartments, located at 1230 Jabber Drive #113 in reference to a reported stabbing.

Police found one person dead from a stab wound to the chest. According to officials, Madisen Rene Stroupe, 19, told police she accidentally stabbed her boyfriend with a pink steak knife during an argument.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Chad Fern.

Court documents say Stroupe lived in the apartment off Coleman Blvd. with Fern. Stroupe has been charged with murder and possession of a knife during a violent crime.

Stroupe appeared in Charleston County Bond Court and was given no bond on the murder charge. The judge gave her a $100,000 bond on the charge of possession of a knife during commission of a crime.
