The FBI division office in Charlotte has released details about a suspected bank robber that is wanted after a series of robberies in mulitple states, including one in Asheville.

According to the FBI, the unidentified bank robber has robbed at least seven banks in six states since December 28, 2018. Investigators have dubbed the robber as the “Traveling Bandit” because of the great distance he has covered committing the robberies.

No one has been injured during the robberies.

The robber may be driving a white Ford Explorer or Expedition. Anyone with information about the robber is urged to call local police, the nearest FBI filed office or the Miami field office of the FBI – the FBI office that began investigating the first robbery by the “traveling bandit.” The phone number is (754) 703-2000.   • Friday, January 4, 2019 – Mountain Commerce Bank in  Johnson City, TN
  • Tuesday, January 8, 2019 – US Bank in Mt. Juliet, TN
  • Thursday, January 10, 2019 – TrustMark Bank in Prattville, AL
  • Monday, January 14, 2019 – 5th 3rd Bank in Mt. Vernon, IL
  • Thursday, January 17, 2019 – Wells Fargo Bank in Price, UT
