COLUMBIA – The South Carolina High School League voted Tuesday to expand from four classifications to five.
The change will affect all sports and will go into effect July 1, 2016. The original proposal was for a six classes, but that was voted down.
The league will determine which teams will move into which classifications. They hope to make those decisions final by September.
