Conway police officers were called to a local gas station Thursday morning after a man walked in with an accidental gunshot wound.
Lt. Selena Small said police arrived at the Kangaroo Express on Church Street and Mill Pond Road around 4:30 a.m.
Small said the man told the clerk he had been shot in the leg and needed help. The clerk called 911.
“The victim in this cases has stated that he accidentally shot himself in the leg in a field near the end of Jenkins Road in Conway,” Small said.
“After this occurred he walked to the gas station to get assistance. This case is still under investigation, however there is no suspect to the shooting as the wound the victim received was self-inflicted from an accidental discharge,” Small added.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Small said the man was in stable condition.
