a Lunch-and-Learn on Thursday

held at The Floyd Conference Center located at 1592 Freedom Boulevard in Florence.

“It is when people suffer in silence that they begin to feel even more isolated and they don’t know how to get help and when people are isolated and they don’t know how to get help, if they can’t help themselves they can’t help their children they can’t help their pets, so the first step is just letting somebody know
,” said Nicole Howlind, Lexington County Prosecutor.

The
goal
of this training
was
to help participants recognize the correlation between Animal Cruelty and Child Maltreatment and the proper response for each.

The basics of child abuse
was also
discussed.
