NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Electricians made an unexpected discovery while on a job in Tennessee: kittens stuck inside a wall.
“Don’t think I have had any run-ins with any sort of animals like that on the job before,” said Nathan Bass, an electrician with Elec Tech Electrical LLC.According to a post on the companies Facebook page, the house was under construction. Our sister station, WKRN, reported the former occupants were charged with manufacturing meth inside the house in 2014 and subsequently went to prison.
It appears a cat got in the house and had several kittens. Electricians heard one of the kittens crying behind the wall, so they cut the drywall and saved her.
“We discovered she is taking them to the attic where it is insulated and they are falling into the walls. The kittens are just now moving around. They are falling between the studs where the house is under construction,” Elec Tech Electrical said on their company Facebook page.
Over several days, a total of six kitten have been rescued from the walls inside the home.
“We’re just electricians. We’re not general contractors in there, but we’re like, ‘we got to get the kittens out,’” explained Bass.
According to the vet who is treating the kittens, the kittens were malnourished and are now being treated for eye infections.
“The little orange one, the smallest orange one, was the screamer of the bunch,” said Bass.
The kittens are with a foster family in Old Hickory until they are ready to be adopted.
“All of us are animal lovers so we just wanted a good ending for the story,” said Bass.
