FLORENCE, S.C .(WBTW) – Former University of South Carolina Gamecock and San Francisco 49ers running back, Marcus Lattimore made stops in the Pee Dee Thursday.
Lattimore interacted with children at McLeod Children’s Hospital in Florence.
The former professional football player showed great strength and determination after suffering multiple knee injuries during his college career.
In 2014, Lattimore retired as running back with the San Francisco 49ers.
Thursday evening at 5:30, Lattimore will be at the Florence Civic Center for the “Overcoming Adversity” Fundraiser. The event will feature a unique tailgate experience with Lattimore.
At 7:00 pm, the “Overcoming Adversity” presentation will begin with a special appearance by Adam Ploeg, a McLeod Sports Medicine Certified Athletic Trainer, who will speak about sports injury prevention and concussion management.
Proceeds from the event benefit McLeod Children’s Hospital.
