Community members in Darlington gathered downtown Sunday afternoon for a celebration of music and entertainment on the square.
The city held it’s third annual “Gospel Music on the Square”.
City leaders say the purpose of the event is to bring the community together for a wonderful afternoon of celebration through music.
“We can’t make a business open its doors in town, but we can have events that community and residents want to have and enjoy. That will show the businesses here that we will support them when they do come and we will reward them,” said event organizer Lisa Rock.
Lisa says the square is the perfect venue for so many events in the city of Darlington and they are using it to bring more people to the area.
The next event will be a memorial day of service at the Darlington Veterans Memorial.
