COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Interstate 26 just west of Columbia has been blocked in both directions by a series of wrecks.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cp. David Jones said Wednesday morning that a number of vehicles were involved, including a tanker truck that overturned and caught fire.
Jones said it was not clear when the road might reopen. It’s a main route for commuters heading into downtown Columbia.
There was no immediate word on injuries.
The road was blocked between exits 104 and 106.
