Florence County School District Four officials say schools will be back in session Monday but all off campus events will remain off campus as scheduled.

A power outage at Timmonsville schools on Wednesday caused schools to close through Friday.

Timmonsville School Superintendent Dr. Andre Boyd says the outage Wednesday affected the entire Timmonsville Education Center, which is the school for students attending kindergarten to 12th grade.

Doctor Boyd says contractors and electricians were still on scene to repair the problem late Wednesday afternoon.

The school had no electricity in the building, so they were unable to contact parents.  Just after noon, school buses were seen taking children home from the school.

The staff  remained at the school until all children are picked up.
