COLUMBIA (AP) – The South Carolina football team has posted its best-ever academic semester with a 2.938 grade-point average for the spring.
The school released the spring grades for its athletic teams Wednesday. Associate athletic director for academics and student development Maria Hickman said that football, men’s swimming and beach volleyball all set program highs. Beach volleyball finished with a 3.503 average while men’s swimming had a 3.378.
In all, 16 of 18 athletic teams had a GPA of 3.0 this past spring.
Women’s golf led all programs with a 3.705 grade-point average.
Men’s track and field had the lowest team grade at 2.918 for the semester.
