CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – The U.S. Coast Guard has flown a man to a hospital after he was thrown from a jet ski near Charleston, South Carolina.

The Post and Courier (http://bit.ly/1BfNJNI ) reports that the 50-year-old man and his wife were tossed off the watercraft near the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge.

The Coast Guard said in a news release that the man suffered neck and arm injuries, but the woman was uninjured and called for help.

A Charleston-based Coast Guard helicopter came to the scene and hoisted the man into the aircraft.

State officers then found the wife and took her to be with the husband.

The Coast Guard didn’t release his condition.
