MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Traffic headed south on Highway 501 near the Dunkin Donuts in Myrtle Beach around noon was rerouted as crews cleared the wreckage from a fatal crash that killed a Myrtle Beach man Monday afternoon.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol online traffic information, the fatal collision occurred at 11:59 a.m. Monday. It is not yet known what caused the crash or any other injuries involved.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick says the man who was killed in the crash is 23-year-old David Cole Wenglinsky of Myrtle Beach. Wenglinsky was pronounced at the scene, and died from internal blunt force injuries.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
