RALEIGH, N.C. – A Raleigh woman claimed she is getting the run around from the owner of a party bus she rented that burst into flames.

Anna Dixon rented the bus to celebrate her 19th birthday with more than 20 friends.

They were on the way to a concert featuring rapper Juicy J on June 18 when the bus ignited.

It happened on Industrial Drive near Six Forks Road.

Investigators said mechanical problems caused the fire, which started in the engine bay.

“It was scary,” Dixon said. “It was definitely one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever been through.”

Dixon said, in addition to ruining her evening, she also lost a purse, iPhone, birthday cash and gift cards, along with her concert tickets.

Now, she wants the owner of JL’s Party Bus LLC, Jonathan Williams, to pay up more than $1,300 dollars to replace those belongings and refund her $200 rental fee.

Instead, Williams has offered to pay $500 and requested she sign a document releasing him from further claims.

But after Dixon and her mother refused, she said Williams has been hard to find.

“I just want to see him do the right thing,” Dixon said, “Come out and take care of this and pay me back for what I lost because it wasn’t my fault that this happened.”

WNCN attempted to reach Williams by phone, email and in person at his home, but were unsuccessful.

His attorney reached out saying they would respond in the coming days.
