UNION COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Union County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in a major marijuana eradication. Steve Allen Nelon is accused of growing a large field of marijuana, containing 1,097 separate plants.

Investigators also searched Nelon’s home and found 147 plants and two large bags of processed marijuana.

Sheriff David Taylor says this is the third time Nelon has been arrested for growing the plant, but did not elaborate on how much marijuana was recovered in the previous arrests.

The total street value for the seized marijuana is about $2,248,000.
