AYNOR, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police arrested a man and woman for stealing watermelons this weekend.
According to a police report, Jack Beall, 27, of Nichols, and Lorie Brown, 22, of Galivants Ferry, were arrested Sunday and charged with stealing melons or fruit.
The report said the couple was stopped near Galivants Ferry and when the officer asked them step from the vehicle, they both were barefooted with dirt covering their feet.
Brown admitted to police that she and Beall stole approximately 32 watermelons from the farmer’s field the night before and where going to come back to get more but saw the officer nearby, the report said.
Both suspects were released on $125 bond.
