DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a Fan Drive, to help provide box fans to the elderly residents of Darlington County.  These elderly residents are the ones that are most vulnerable to the serious risks of health and safety posed by the excessive heat exposure.

If you know an elderly person in need of a box fan, contact the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 843-398-4501.  The sheriff’s office has 150 box fans available and they will be delivered to the residents in our county on July 17.

Monetary donations were provided by the following businesses in our area: HMES Diane Wilkes, Saleeby & Cox, Hartsville Medical, Orlando Hudson, Fred Wilhelm Sr., SPC Credit Union, James and Maloria Hudson, John Kimbrough DCCOA, Palmetto Furniture, Mrs. Byrd, HMES Mrs. Ford, Robinette Insurance Agency, Norton Funeral Home, Quality Auto Sales of Hartsville, Palmetto Furniture & MFG. CO, Brown Pennington Funeral Home, Sun Construction, Mogs Clothing Boutique, Eric & Sherri Hodges, and J&J Right Touch Catering.

Without the funding from those businesses, this Fan Drive would not be possible. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our elderly residents cool and safe from heat exposure.
