PICKENS, S.C. (AP) – A North Carolina man charged with vandalizing Howard’s Rock at the Clemson University football stadium is going on trial.

The case of Micah Rogers of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, is on the docket to begin Monday morning in Pickens County Court.

Authorities allege that Rogers broke into Clemson’s football stadium back in June of 2013, damaged the case around the rock and then chipped off a piece of the stone.

Rogers is charged with grand larceny and malicious injury to property of more than $10,000. He could face up to 20 years in jail if convicted.

Two other people, including Rogers’ father Michael, also face charges stemming from the incident. Clemson coaches and players rub the rock as they enter the stadium for football games.
