SAVANNAH, GA (WSAV) – Former Marine Shawn Raines decided to take the issue of safety for local military recruitment offices into his own hands by protecting a recruitment office in Savannah, Georgia Monday morning.
Raines showed up at recruitment offices on Abercorn St. armed with two weapons.
Raines explained to News13 sister station in Savannah, WSAV, he just wants to make sure local offices are safe following the attack in Tennessee. He adds he has a carry permit and made his presence known to recruitment centers and other businesses in the strip mall.
Those inside the Army recruitment office said they couldn’t comment on the situation, but one woman whose son was inside the Air Force Recruitment Center commented she was relieved to see the man on guard Monday morning.
