CAROLINA FOREST AREA, SC (WBTW) – The corononer has identified a woman hit and killed near Carolina Forest.
Jewel Rogers from Santee was hit and killed as she tried to cross the road at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the coroner.
The deadly crash happened around on Hwy 501 near Waccamaw Pines Drive, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A car traveling north on 501 struck Rogers, who was attempting to cross the road.
The SCHP continues to investigate.
