MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The Oceanfront Merchants Association says the green party must go on. Due to the cancellation of the traditional St. Patrick’s Day Festival in downtown Myrtle Beach, the group is hosting an event to celebrate in Irish style.

‘Get Your Green On’ will kick off Thursday at 5:15 p.m. with the Pee Dee Street Rodders Parade.  Participants are encouraged to look for oceanfront business that have green balloons out front as they will be offering Irish specials all weekend long.

The celebration carries over into Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. with live concerts on the I Love Sugar Stage, best dressed St. Patty’s Day costume contest, a photo booth and much more. Those who come out to enjoy Get Your Green On can also enter for a chance to win two 3-day passes to the Carolina Country Music Fest.
