DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – One person was arrested after Darlington County investigators seized drugs and money from a home.

Investigators with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit served a search warrant in the Dovesville community around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a press release from the DCSO.

“Narcotics Investigators worked diligently to secure a search warrant for this residence on Cedar Ridge Rd.,” Sheriff Tony Chavis said in the release. “Investigators located and seized methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana and cash.”

Investigators reportedly seized the following items:

  • 7.5 grams of methamphetamine
  • 59 grams of cocaine
  • 4.5 grams of crack cocaine
  • 84 grams of marijuana
  •  $2,300

Michael Rakeem Smith, 27, was arrested. He is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

“Investigators will seek charges of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana,” the release also said.
