MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach Police warned residents about a possible scam regarding online purchases.
According to a MBPD Facebook post, the caller said the victim has made online purchases illegally, usually of prescription drugs or diet medication, and they need to deposit money with a local bank in order to “solve the problem.”
Anyone who may have received one of these calls and was scammed out of money and who lives in the city of Myrtle Beach, they can call MBPD at (843) 918-1382. Anyone else should contact their local authorities.
