MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) Like father, like son and like mother like daughter. The Espana family talent show is a unique cavalcade of skills that is on full display during the new Cirque Extreme show at the Palace Theatre.

“I always wanted to give them the choice,” Mother and seventh generation Cirque Extreme performer Vivien Espana said of raising her children.

When you perform in the circus, life is a little different.

“This is what I knew, this is what I thought you did growing up,” daughter Noemi Espana said. “I didn’t know anything else.”

“I was like oh I want to do this,” 12 year old son Elan Espana said of watching his parents.

Noemi and Elan were born into this performing world yet both say they also chose this path.

“My daughter say I want to be like you and my little boy say I want to be like daddy,” Vivien said.

The kids say there was a little pressure knowing how successful their parents had been in the circus but Mom and Dad have also always been there to cheer them on.

“They are really supportive and they really helped me through everything,” Noemi said. “They are the best coaches that anyone could ask for.”

Bending and twisting into formations and figures foreign to the typical human boday or spinning and tossing a dizzying array of concentration.

“It’s a lot of hand eye coordination and to know where to move it and to know where to look to find the diablo.” Elan said.

Father, Mother, Daughter and Son all sharing the same stage and much deserved thunderous applause.

“It’s an amazing feeling when you are standing on the side of the stage and you’re watching your kid doing great especially when you know that they are doing what they love,” Father and fifth generation circus performer Noe Espana said.

A journey they take each night and each performance side by side as one big happy circus family.

“Having them by your side always you become really close,” Noemi said.

“That’s the best it,” Vivien said. “(It) makes me more proud to see them do anything, they come out and they say momma did you see what I did.”
