PAMPLICO, SC (WBTW) – A 6-year-old child has died after falling from a moving vehicle, according to the Florence County Coroner’s Office.
Coroner Keith von Lutcken says the child, identifed as Kavon Semaj Timmons, of Timmonsville, fell from a moving car Sunday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. on 3rd Avenue in Pamplico. The child was taken to a local hospital where he was placed into the Intensive Care Unit.
Doctors declared Timmons brain dead Tuesday afternoon and the young boy died, adds von Lutcken. An autopsy has been performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, but the exact cause of death has not been released.
The incident is under investigation by the Florence County Coroner’s Office and Pamplico Police Department. The South Carolina Highway Patrol’s MAIT Team is assisting as well.
