Police say they shot and killed a man who jumped from the window of a North Carolina home with a sword after setting a fire in a bedroom.

News outlets report that Mount Holly Police responded to a domestic disturbance Saturday morning in the Dutchman Meadows community.

Police released no details on the identity of the man who died or the officer who shot him.

After setting the bedroom on fire and jumping out a second-story window, Police Chief Don Roper said officers caught up to the man and shot him after a confrontation. He died at the scene.

Police say nobody else was injured.
