CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – A man said he placed a gallon gas container with matches and a cigarette stuffed in the lid at the back door of a bank because of a feud, police said.

Henry Roberts, 87, of Conway, was charged with threatening to use a destructive device on Monday. He was released on a $10,000 bond.

Conway police said Roberts admitted to placing the container at the Bank of America on Main Street because of a feud with the bank “in reference to money he believes they owe him.” Bank employees said they remembered a man who threatened them before, so police were able to obtain a name and photo.

The container was filled three-quarters of the way with gasoline. The lid had been cut and a cigarette and two matches had been placed inside of the lid, police said. Video shows a man getting out of his car and placing the container at the back door at 7:06 p.m. on Monday.
