MARION, S.C. (WBTW)- One person is dead after a wreck in Marion County.
Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened around 11:30 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 41 North and Hoyt Rogers Road.
According to Cpl. Collins, the driver of a 2011 Honda Accord was driving west on Hoyt Rogers Road when he or she disregarded the stop sign, and hit a 2013 Chevy Pickup driving west on Highway 41 North.
The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing a seat belt, died in the wreck.
Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson identified the victim as 24-year-old Kyle Player, of Chesterfield County.
Medics took the driver of the Chevy, who was wearing a seat belt, to a hospital in Florence.
Cpl. Collins says they don’t expect to file any charges in the case, since the at-fault driver died.
