SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA)- Mother’s day is only five days away, the earliest it can possibly be. If that has you scrambling, not to worry, we have expert advice on how to snag the deals.
And along with that, below you’ll find a preview of the big sales coming up at the end of the month.
Having her own baby has given Ana Piekarski a new appreciation for all her mom has done, and yet.
“It feels like the Jewelry is just more expensive during mother’s day. And I just don’t know what to get after that because I’m like, I’m just not going to spend that much money on my mom,” she said with a laugh.
Don’t worry, Ana, mom wouldn’t want you to overspend.
DealNews, which tracks prices, found, right now, on Jewelry.com and Szul.com are offering 90% off select items.
And at Sears, “We are actually offering this great promotion, if you order something from Sears.com for in-vehicle pick up May the 3-the 7th, you actually can put in a drawing for a $5000 gift card,” said Assistant Store Manager Daryl Lyerly in Spartanburg.
Amazon is selling some women’s watches, shoes, handbags, luggage and apparel for half off.
And, here’s a first, Coach.com cutting 25% off site-wide, with the code “MOM2016.”
Or go non-traditional.
“One of the biggest trends we are seeing is tech gifts for mother’s day. Best Buy has a very popular mother’s day sale, so that might be something to consider if your mom’s a little bit tech savvy,” said Benjamin Glaser with DealNews.
Still, if flowers are a must, check out this Groupon for $10 off an FTD bouquet, only good today.
“Now that I didn’t know about that, I’m probably going to drop a hint to my husband, like leave it on my phone or something, ” said Piekarski with another chuckle.
As for memorial day sales, DealNews says they’ll be some of the best that we’ve seen since Black Friday. Especially on things like spring apparel and home goods.
But the biggest savings, could be in the bedroom.
“Memorial day is the single best time of year to buy a mattress. Historically we see discounts starting at 50% off,” said Glaser.
But before then, don’t forget about mom.
Take it from Mary White, a mom several times over.
“It doesn’t take a lot to make mom happy. It just makes her bubble over to know that her children think enough of her to get her something,” she said.
