MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – Thousands of people came out for the 20th annual Blessing of the Inlet Saturday at Belin United Methodist Church.

100 vendors showcased arts, crafts and food; non-profits also set up tents to help raise money for various causes.

The service is a celebration and the main attraction is a blessing for everything and everyone in the iconic Inlet.

“Thanking god for this beautiful community, the people, the ecology, the nature; but just the fact that we can have this community event, that we can just be together,” said associate minister, Scott Johnson.

The Blessing of the Inlet happens rain or shine every year on the first Saturday in May.

Organizers say the event attracts more visitors and vendors each year.
