CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Scott Rutherford, the deputy chief for the Horry County Police Department, will retire, he confirmed to News13.

Rutherford said he turned in his retirement papers to the county on Wednesday. Public Information Officer for Horry County Lisa Bourcier says Rutherford’s retirement will be effective June 6. He has been employed with the county since 1991 and has an ending salary of $79,747.20.
