MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The spring bike rallies bring thousands of visitors to the Grand Strand each year, and as first responders work to keep everyone safe, one group worked to take care of them.
Tabernacle Church in Myrtle Beach teamed up with several sponsors to make sure the men and women on patrol had something good to eat.
Friday was the first year the church provided breakfast, lunch and dinner for the first responders.
“It was the community that came together that made this possible. To be able to give back to the police officers and the firefighters was not just one person or one group it was the community,” said organizer, Christina Cortes.
Organizers say it took two months of planning to provide more than 100 free meals.
