LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – Lake City residents will be able to give their input on what they would like to see happen in Lake City this week.
The study is called “Cultivate Lake City” it is organized by the Greater Lake City Community Development Office and the City of Lake City.
City Administrator Shawn Bell says citizens have participated earlier this month in community meetings to help.
Bell says the city hired a group of architects from Atlanta called TSW to put the city together a downtown master plan.
Thomas Walsh, an architect from Atlanta says his team have been working very closely with the community to ensure that they’re headed in the right direction.
“One of the things that we found really cool is that along Main Street there is penetrations from the front to the back of buildings, so it has allowed us to explore with new creative ways to design on the backside of buildings,” said Walsh.
An open house will be held at the Bean Market on Henry Street Wednesday May 25, 2016 to reveal feedback from the surveys taken by citizens and the master plan.
Surveys can be found online and paper copies inside city hall on Main Street before noon.
People have until June 6 to to take the surveys.http://www.lakecitysc.com/discover/future/
