Cooler weather is moving in for the weekend. A cold front will move across the eastern Carolinas this evening, bringing a round of showers and thunderstorms. The rain will move away by midnight as cooler, drier air moves in. Weekend weather is looking nice, but it will not be as warm as it was today. A reinforcing cold front will move through dry on Monday, keeping it cool through next week. Another front could bring a few showers by Thursday.

Tonight, evening showers, then partly cloudy and breezy. Lows 49 inland, 54 beaches.

Tomorrow, partly sunny and cooler. Highs 64 inland, 62 beaches.

Sunday, mostly sunny and cool. Highs in the low 60s.
