GREENWOOD, S.C.  – A Greenwood man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to molesting a five-year-old girl.

The victim was left with a sexually transmitted disease, officials said.

Ricky Anthony Yeldell, Jr., 23, pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Eighth Circuit Solicitor.

The crime was reported in July 2014. The victim was taken to Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.

The solicitor says the child showed strong evidence of a sexual assault and a sexually transmitted disease.

The victim described the assault to nurses, investigators and case workers.

Yeldell tested positive for the same sexually transmitted disease as the victim.

Yeldell will face 15 more years in prison if he violates his probation after he is released.

Those conditions include being added to the sex offender registry, GPS monitoring and he can’t have contact with minor children.
