FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW)- The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Florence County Coroner’s Office is investigating a crash that killed one person Saturday morning.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said the single vehicle crash happened around 7:10am near 660 Green Road in Lake City.
Troopers say the car’s driver, 23-year-old Jamie Floyd, was traveling south on Green Road before losing control of the car, running off the road and rolling over into a ditch.
18-year-old Dewayne Benjamin Harrington of Coward, a passenger in the car was ejected from the car and died on the scene, according to the coroner. The Highway Patrol says two other people were in the car but were not hurt.
According to the Florence County Detention website, the driver Jamie Floyd, was arrested and is charged with felony DUI resulting in death.
